Dear midwives, partners and supporters,
Today, we proudly launched the Midwives’ Data Hub — an open-access platform built to make midwives, the midwifery profession, and how these intersect with sexual, reproductive, maternal, newborn and adolescent health outcomes more visible than ever before.

For too long, midwives have been underrepresented in global health data. That’s why, in partnership with Direct Relief, we created this first-of-its-kind platform that brings together more than 50 data layers from over 15 trusted external sources — including WHO, UN agencies, and national health surveys.

The Midwives’ Data Hub was built with you in mind. Whether you’re preparing a policy brief, giving a lecture, reporting on maternal health, or writing a funding proposal — the Hub gives you the information you need, when you need it. You can search country-specific profiles, compare indicators on sexual and reproductive health, explore midwifery workforce data, and download the full datasets behind the numbers.

We invite you to explore the Midwives’ Data Hub and, if you find it helpful, help us share it. Know an educator who could use it in the classroom? Send it their way. Is your local media outlet looking for maternal health statistics across your region? Point them to the Hub. Have a colleague preparing a presentation? Share the link.

Help us make midwives and the midwifery profession more visible than ever.

You can learn more about the Hub and find graphics and suggested social media posts to support dissemination here.

We are looking forward to all the ways midwives and stakeholders will engage with the Hub, and use it to strengthen the visibility and impact of midwives worldwide.
